Junø Launches Governance Platform on Commonwealth
We’re excited to announce that Junø is partnering with the team at Commonwealth to use our all-in-one governance platform. As a sovereign public blockchain in the Cosmos ecosystem, Junø aims to provide a sandbox environment for the deployment of their interoperable smart contracts. We’re excited to see their project grow on our platform.
Junø: Smart Contracts Evolved
Junø is a decentralized, public, permission-less network for cross-chain smart contracts. It is an avenue for developers to securely launch their contracts and compile them in various languages. Given that the heart of Cosmos is the Inter Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC), which allows data packets to be transferred across thousands of independent networks, Junø aims to become to next evolutionary milestone by enabling cross-network smart contracts.
Junø is defined by its community-driven initiative, prompted by members of the cosmos ecosystem. They share a common vision to preserve the neutrality, performance, and reliability of the Cosmos Hub and to offload smart contract deployment to a sister Hub. Compared to other Layer 1 Smart Contract networks, like Ethereum and Solana, Junø has set itself apart by being a base layer with native interoperability, high security, and high scalability.

Commonwealth: Where Decentralized Communities Come to Grow
Commonwealth is the governance tool and crypto-native community used by many of the top DeFi projects to discuss, vote on, and fund their initiatives. We accommodate various governance processes so projects don’t need to be managed across multiple community platforms like Discord, Telegram, other governance platforms. This allows decentralized governance, community discussions, treasury management, and more to happen all on Commonwealth.
Now that Junø has joined Commonwealth, the organization’s community operations will be fundamentally improved. Their governance process is now seamless, with everything from discussions to crowdfunding to executing proposals happening in one place. This gives Junø more functionality on a streamlined system. Another project, NETA, was built on the Junø Network and already joined Commonwealth. We’re excited to see their mother project join our community.
Junø’s platform on Commonwealth was built custom for their ecosystem and includes the following capabilities:
- Crypto-Native Token Forum: The Junø community on Commonwealth comes with full forum capabilities including threaded discussions, upvotes, user profiles, and more.
- On-Chain Governance: The Junø community will be able to discuss, vote, and execute on governance proposals all on-chain and with complete transparency through the new Commonwealth forum.
Participate in Junø’s Commonwealth Forum
The Junø Commonwealth forum is now live and actively used by the Junø community. Users are encouraged to participate in the ongoing discussions on their new platform.
Recent discussions and proposals include:
- A proposal to correct the gamed stakedrop, agreeing to reduce the gamed whale address to the 50k ATOM whalecap per address set prior to genesis. Since the whale gamer could single-handedly wipe out the entire DEX liquidity, the community voted to remove the funds from the whale gamer account and send them to the community pool. This proposal passed with 40.85% of the vote (21.78% voted to abstain).
- A draft proposal to override Proposal 16, which claims the accusations against the whale were false. Some members of the community hope to set the record straight about the stakedrop: that the whale was operating a virtual currency exchange service. They hope to fix the broken genesis stakedrop, and believe it is the community’s responsibility to do so. This discussion is ongoing.
