Introducing Trust Levels on Common

Trust is the new superpower.
At Common, we’re building tools that help communities thrive. That means giving people clear ways to earn credibility, unlock access, and collaborate with confidence.
That’s why we’ve rolled out Trust Levels for both users and communities. Already live in production, Trust Levels make credibility transparent, actionable, and now gatable.
What Are Trust Levels?
Trust Levels are progressive milestones. As users and communities verify themselves and engage meaningfully, they rise through five levels of trust. Each unlocks new features, recognition, and responsibility across Common.
For Users: Show You’re Here to Build
Your Trust Level helps communities understand who you are, what you’ve done, and how invested you are.

Level 1: New Verified Wallet
Wallet less than 1 week old
Signal: Just getting started
Level 2: Verified Wallet
Wallet older than 1 week
Signal: Sticking around and starting to contribute
Level 3: Social Verified
Connected social accounts
Signal: You’re real and reachable
Level 4: Chain Verified
Created a namespace, launched a coin, completed a contest, or verified a community
Signal: Actively building on-chain
Level 5: Manual Verification
Manually reviewed by the Common team
Signal: Highly trusted contributor
For Communities: Build with Credibility
Communities can also earn trust. A verified community signals to members that it’s credible, active, and transparent.

Level 1: Unverified
Basic community, no verification
Signal: Open, but not yet trusted
Level 2: Social Verified
Connected and verified social accounts
Signal: Public presence and credibility
Level 3: Community Verified
Claimed a namespace or launched a coin
Signal: Actively building in the ecosystem
Level 4: Manual Verification
Reviewed by the Common team
Signal: Trusted by platform admins
Level 5: Premium Verification
Highest tier with added benefits
Signal: High-trust community with elevated capabilities
New: Gating and Groups
Trust Levels now power gating inside groups and communities.
When creating a group, admins can set minimum trust requirements (Level 1 through 5). This allows you to:
- Host private spaces for verified builders
• Gate content, roles, and rewards to trusted contributors
• Auto flag posts from low-trust users such as wallets less than one week old or no social verification
This gives communities finer control over who can access what and helps keep discussions high-signal.
Why It Matters
Trust Levels aren’t just labels. They shape how people interact and what they can access. They help:
- Builders launch safer, curated spaces
• Users gain credibility and rewards
• Moderators gate content and roles with precision
• Communities scale without losing authenticity
What’s Next
We’re integrating Trust Levels into Aura, our social home view, so your trust travels with you across the app. Soon, you’ll see trust built into core actions such as who can post, join, lead, and earn.
We’re also exploring custom trust levels per community so you could define your own progression logic on top of Common’s default five tiers.
