Introducing Farcaster Contests
Contests, launched in November 2024, provide a way to fund output that you want to see in your community, such as generating community specific content, research competitions or meme contests.
Currently, contests can be run directly on Common, funded with tokens and open for participation by community members on the Common Platform
Since launching Contests, we’ve noticed a few opportunities for optimization in the current format:
- People often discover live Contests on social platforms but don’t want to leave their feeds to participate
- Newer members are required to create an account on Common to submit entries, which can limit participation
With Farcaster Contests, communities will be able to set up a contest directly within a Frame on Farcaster. The entire Contest experience will happen on Farcaster, including participation, upvotes, and seamless rewards payouts to the Farcaster connected account.
how it works in three steps:
1.) Set Up the Contest: Create a Farcaster contest on Common, fund it using any token on Base and share the frame on Farcaster
2.) Open for Entries & Voting: All replies to the Frame count as Contest entries. Members can upvote by installing an Upvote Content action, with upvotes weighted based on the token used for funding
3.) Reward Winners: Entries with the most upvotes win, and payouts are sent automatically to the wallets connected to the respective Farcaster accounts
Farcaster Contests make it easier than ever to engage your community and circulate your primary tokens by running seamless, token-funded competitions without leaving your Farcaster ecosystem.
